Class Description: This class is for the person who knows how to weave, but hasn’t woven in a while and not sure how to get started again.. Weavers may choose to weave any project with a maximum width of 18”. This could include a table runner, placemats, napkins, or a scarf. Students will select one of three bird’s eye patterns, wind their warp, dress their loom from back to front, and weave their project. Finishing that involves sewing will have to be done at home. The goal of this class is to increase weavers’ confidence and ability to carry out their projects independently.
Materials: Each student will meet independently with the teacher prior to the class to plan their project and select their yarn. Students should bring everything needed to complete their project. This includes their yarn of choice (preapproved by the teacher) and their weaving toolkit. The 3-day class will include 5 hours per day of instruction/weaving assistance. Total instruction time will be 16 hours.
Fee: $160 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at the time of registration) or $170 for non-members, payable by check, cash or credit card to HWFA.
