Class Description: You know you’ve always wanted to know how to weave a basket, so
jump right in! Most other basket classes will require this basic class first. This basket features a wrapped wood handle, and the finished is approximately 6”W x 14”L x 5”D. You will be weaving
in natural reed and one color of your choice. You will learn the seven basic skills needed for most basket designs: wrapping a wood handle, twinning the base for stability, “upsetting” the
basket, weaving, attaching and lashing a rim.
Fee: $60 for HWFA members (must have completed orientation at the time of
registration) or $70 for non-members, payable by check, cash or credit card to HWFA.
Materials fee: $15.00 payable to the Instructor on class day.
Supplies brought by student: None.
Materials Used (provided by instructor or HWFA): Instructor will provide all
materials and tools.
