February Classes

Good afternoon HWFA!  We have some great classes coming up this month.  The web site is up-to-date with all the information, dates and times.  But here is a run down for the month.....

BOOT CAMP 1 - There is still 1 space available in Ruth's class - starts Feb. 8th.

USING A BLENDING BOARD - Elyse is teaching this for the person who knows how to spin a yarn that holds together.  You will learn how to layer fibers, colors and textures and how to create rolags for spinning.  Feb. 9th

BEGINNING KNITTING - Roberta is doing an introductory class, no experience necessary.  Learn how to knit, purl, cast-on, bind-off, increase, decrease, etc.  Get ready for the sock class to come next - starts Feb. 13.

BEGINNING WEAVING - Suz will help you answer your question on whether or not you want to get into weaving on a floor loom.  You will learn how a loom works, weaving terminology and techniques and how to weave cloth.  Looms will be warped for you, ready to start.  Starts Feb. 15
PUNCH NEEDLE EMBROIDERY -  Jeri will teach the basics, how to thread the punch needle, get the fabric tight in a locking hoop, etc.  Feb. 16.

BEGINNING SPINNING - Paula is back teaching!  You will learn everything (and more) than you ever wanted to learn about spinning.  Classes being held on Saturdays - starts Feb. 18.

BEGINNING RUG HOOKING - Claudia is teaching the basics of rug hooking.  This is NOT latch hook, locker hooking or rug punch needle.  You will learn how to pull a loop, plan a rug, make a pattern and finish the piece.  Classes are on Sundays - starts Feb. 19.

NEEDLE FELTING - Irene has created a fun project great for the winter doldrums.  Create a "winter gnome" using natural color fibers.   Feb. 22.

BEGINNING CROCHET -  Pat is teaching an introductory class for whoever wants to learn to crochet.   Basic crochet stitches, how to hold the yarn and to use the crochet hook.  Get ready for the Crochet Mosaic Stitch Baskets to come next.    Feb. 23.

Registration forms are at the Boarding House, and attached to this email.  If you have any questions, get in touch with me.  Payment in full is required along with the registration form.   And don't forget about our member lunches on Tuesdays at noon.  Bring your lunch and meet us in the Interpretive Center.
