Dates: 3 sessions:  Wednesday May 4, Friday May 6 and Wednesday May 11

Time:  12 - 3 pm

Description of Class:

Weave a sampler that can be made into a throw pillow.  You will learn weaving vocabulary, project planning, how to dress a rigid heddle loom and thread manipulation.

Location: Boarding House, Historic Johnson Farm on Haywood Road, Hendersonville, NC

Fee: $105.00 for HWFA members or $145.00 for non-members.  The fee includes rental of rigid heddle loom.

Materials fee of $12.00 payable by check or cash to the Instructor on first class day.

Students should bring the following to class:

4 different yarns – wool or worsted wool blend:

  • 3 oz DK yarn
  • 1.76 oz medium weight worsted yarn
  • 3 .5 oz super chunky yarn
  • 2.8 oz medium worsted weight yarn
  • 12 x 16 pillow form if pillow is desired
  • Tapestry needle, Scissors, Pencil and paper

Skill Level:  Beginner, Advanced Beginner

Maximum number of students:  3
